About Susanna

Susanna Meyer is a multifaceted artist, educator, and dedicated community organizer with a focus on values-based community development through social, intellectual, and creative community-building activities and events. Since 2007, she has hosted a weekly visioning meeting to foster a shared community vision for a public space in support of local cultural life. Additionally, for the last seven years, Susanna has developed a series of local Arts Alive events, Think Tank events, and Learning parties.

With a background in dance, choreography, singing, and teaching, Susanna’s artistic talents and experiences play a significant role in shaping the creative aspects of the events and projects she leads, making them more engaging and impactful for the community. As a teacher, she has the unique ability to inspire and educate others, fostering a greater appreciation for the arts and nurturing the next generation of artists and creative thinkers.

Through her various activities, Susanna has become well known in the community as a capable organizer and systems thinker, able to bring disparate groups together for interdisciplinary arts and community events. Moving forward, she is focusing on developing the Global Cultural Commons, an open-source university with a traditional, formal learning component as well as a hands-on fieldwork component. This combination of skills has solidified her reputation as a dynamic force for positive change in both the arts and community development sectors.
